Linda Day (August 12, 1938 - October 23, 2009)[1] was an American television director, working for the most part in situation comedies.
Day was born as Linda Brickner[2] in Los Angeles in 1938, the daughter of Roy Brickner, a film editor.
In addition to an Emmy nomination, Day received a Humanitas prize and was honored by the DGA for paving the way for women in television. The native of Los Angeles worked on more than 350 episodes and 50 series.[3]

Linda Day died, aged 71, from cancer in Georgetown, Texas. She was survived by her husband, L. Steve Varnum; her daughter, Heidi Gutman and her sister, Nancy Riley.
